I am a man that comes from the know. Friends come and then go. I’ve gone under the bridge to express my feelings and get my fix, because sometimes, I feel like my soul needs to be squeezed every once in a while. “Give it away”, John told me, but I can’t stop while I’m ahead. I’ve broken the girl and I’ve broken my mind, but I can’t help but feel like I’m missing the signs. Music is my aeroplane, and looking in my rear-view mirror will only do so much before I start to rust and decompose. Raindance Maggie had a problem trying to make it rain one day, and Dani California told me that I myself had a problem, but I was sure that I didn’t. Maggie eventually did made it rain, but it turned to snow soon after. “Hey oh”, said my mind wondering off into the amazing euphoria that the snow has put me under as I was walking through the streets of Los Angeles seeing all my companions. The look on my face was as if Mother Mary came to me, but I was not in times of trouble as the song suggests. Tidal waves couldn’t save the world, neither can I. I make it back home, but John was walking away with his Fender in one hand and his talent in another. The door closes faster than scar tissue trying to heal, and Californication has taken its toll on me.
